January 2013 Fitness Success Story

Robert: My name is Robert Fischer. I’m from Dallas area. I’ve lived here most of my life. I felt like I was really in a position in my life where I could have easily started to spiral out of control, gaining a lot of weight. So before I called, I tried to do a little bit of exercising on my own. I tried to run about 3 miles every other day.

The problem was, I had no consistency there and I didn’t have any accountability so I felt my weight gaining and gaining and no way to control it. I went online, did some research, found your program, and thought it would be a great idea.

I was looking to drop about 30 pounds, put on some muscle mass, be able to go to the gym and actually work out, knowing what I needed to be doing, what areas I needed to be hitting.

I was looking for a little bit of the accountability to help me get into the gym and having someone there to help me on a day-to-day thing to get up and actually do these exercises on a normal schedule. The whole purpose was to build this schedule so that I could keep doing it with or without someone else there.

The main thing that I’ve accomplished is I’ve made my goal of dropping about 30 pounds. I’m down about 2 sizes. I also feel a lot more confident going into the gym because I know what I need to be working on and how to use the different machines. My goals were really achieved that way.

A couple unexpected things that I didn’t really expect to happen is my muscle mass has really gone up—areas that I never thought I would have muscles, I’m starting to get a lot of muscle definition there, so I’m really happy about that.

Curt: And this has taken you how long?

Robert: This has taken me about 2 months, a little less than 2 months.

Curt: Well, that’s quite an accomplishment for 2 months. It’s very, very good.

Robert: Yes. My expectations were blown out of the water.

Curt: Great.

Robert: I was expecting to lose maybe 10 pounds, learn a little bit about weights, but I never expected the level that I’m at now.

One of the problems that I would have is, every morning I didn’t really have the energy to wake up and make a breakfast, so I ended up usually running out to a fast-food place for breakfast. Now I just get up and make my Shaklee shakes and they carry me through all the way to lunch.

Again, with lunch, I didn’t really have time to make a lunch so I utilized the [Personal Trainer Food] that we got with it to have my lunches there—premade, small portions, good nutrition—so it allowed me to cut a lot of the fast food and bad eating habits that I had out of my diet completely.

My energy level has gone up a lot. One of the hesitations I had going into this program was, one of our workouts was early morning, 6:00 a.m., and I didn’t think I’d be able to get up and actually work out at 6:00 a.m.

The first couple ones were hard, but the more I went through the program, the easier it got to get up and actually get to the gym. Now I don’t have a problem getting up early to hit the gym before work.

My advice would be to absolutely do the program, utilize all the resources that the program gives you. The shakes are great, but more importantly the personal trainer that you get with it really helps when you don’t know what you’re doing. That person can really help you learn how to work out in a gym. So I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who ever asked me.
