TuffStuff Six-Pak: Home Fitness Equipment Review #01

Have you ever wanted to get a sneak peek at a piece of home fitness equipment in action before you made a purchase? Now you can do so from the comfort of your computer screen!

Hut Allred of New Wave Fitness and Craig Lewin of Busy Body, both located in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex in Texas, show us this featured piece of in-home equipment for the month of May 2012. Craig shows some exercises on a TuffStuff Six-Pak SPT-6X functional home gym that allows the user to go from one movement to the next efficiently and easily:

Hut Allred:
This is Hut Allred here with New Wave Fitness, and I’m with the vice president of sales, Craig Lewin from Busy Body, one of our partners here in the DFW area that we use quite a bit for their home equipment for our clients.

We’d like to just talk a little bit about the type of equipment that you could use in your home if you’re looking at investing in equipment that has a small footprint, doesn’t take up a lot of space, but gives you all the functionality to allow you to achieve your goals. Craig, tell me about the equipment we want to highlight this month for our viewers.

Craig Lewin:
Absolutely. Obviously there are a couple different gyms we could look at. This one in particular is definitely one of our best because of two main things: Number one, it’s very small & compact, which makes a huge difference. Face it, not everybody’s got the room, right?

Hut Allred:
Yes.

Craig Lewin:
So that’s a huge thing. The other things is, it’s got to feel good, it’s got to be smooth. What’s great about this is, every single exercise that you do, you go, “Man, that feels so incredibly fluid,” better than you would feel at a health club. That makes a big difference.

Hut Allred:
Right. A lot of times people ask, “What types of exercises can you do?” What makes this machine so versatile?

Craig Lewin:
I think the biggest thing first of all, again, you look at it and you can see how compact it is, but just to go through a couple exercises with you real quick, just to show you how easy this is…you can literally sit down on this machine; it’s a functional-trainer type of machine, so you can get in here and do a bench press, a flat bench. You can go to a decline or incline press. You can go all the way up to doing your shoulders, so that makes it really easy for you to do.

You can turn around and do some tricep action right here. Simple. Then what’s great, if you look here, you can take this, you can flip it around, boom, this comes down. And now you’re going to get in here to do a row action, do some curls, some lat pull-downs. You can see how easy it is to go from one exercise to the next. That’s what makes it a very valuable piece.

Hut Allred:
Absolutely. That’s the key—how easy it is to get from one movement to the next. There are a lot of machines out there where you’ve got to adjust three different pieces just to do one exercise. That slows down the efficiency of the workout. So if we’re going to invest in a gym, we need to make sure it’s functional, we can move from one exercise to the next, and we can move a pin and be able to do that efficiently and easily, and not have to worry about dropping a weight on our head if somebody’s not there with us.

Craig Lewin:
Exactly.

Hut Allred:
All right, well, that’s the TuffStuff SixPak home gym. If you’re interested in learning more about that, there are many locations in the Dallas / Fort Worth area.

Craig Lewin:
They can go online www.BusyBodyTX.com if they want to check it out and we’ve got stores all over the place. If they just get online, they’ll be able to see all of our 12 locations.

Hut Allred:
Great. We’ll be bringing some different equipment to you every month just to help educate you on what home fitness equipment is all about. Until then…thanks!
