Approximately 100 business leaders went through the Fit Company Challenge in Dallas, which was created by The Fit Company Institute based in Austin, Texas.
Participants took on three separate courses with their family and friends cheering them on from the sidelines.
At each station along the three courses, there were volunteers and fitness professionals to provide guidance and encouragement, and record each participant’s time.
Three personal trainers from the New Wave Fitness team – Andy Irwin, Ian Simpkinson and John Arthur – along with company owner Hut Allred, volunteered at the event, which was held at Flag Pole Hill Park in Dallas, Texas the morning of Sunday, May 4, 2014.
Participants were timed in events such as push-ups, burpees, agility, weighted carries, endurance, and even a mystery challenge! The event is invitation-only and is “exclusive to business leaders and companies that make fitness and health a priority.” There are both individual as well as “Fittest Company” awards.
“The Fit Company Challenge is a unique opportunity for companies to build team camaraderie, promote fitness within the organization, and have lots of fun. Fit Company selects companies to invite to be part of the challenge based on (1) company nominations and (2) the company’s commitment to employee wellness.” Source: www.FitCompany.com.
