Joe Caught it and Changed the Direction

Joe didn’t want little old ladies passing him by while he was walking! So he took action and joined our Elite Personal Training program in order to improve his nutrition, flexibility, balance and mobility.

Watch his video interview to see Joe’s amazing results:

Joe: My name is Joe Greene and I’m from Temple, Texas. My fitness was non-existent, basically. If I walked up the stairs, I’d probably be out of breath.

Hut: Let’s talk about some of the obstacles that we wanted to overcome. Your number-one goal was to lose weight. I think we had you down at 310-316 and you dropped to 275, so definitely that was one of the top priorities.

But in addition to that, flexibility, balance, mobility were at the top of that priority list. Would you agree with that?

Joe: Yes, absolutely. Mobility has improved. My flexibility—I know that it’s gotten better.

Hut: Some of the reasons why you wanted to improve that flexibility and mobility were because of golf, having balance (for example, if you got on an unstable surface like a boat or something like that.) Do you feel more confident doing those types of activities now than before the program?

Joe: Well, I haven’t been on a boat and golf beat me up so bad…but I have started back doing that. I travel a little bit, and getting off the plane, walking up that jet bridge, sometimes I’m seeing these little old ladies walking past me…and that doesn’t happen anymore. I can see that that has improved.

Hut: How long has it been since you were 275?

Joe: Probably, I’d say about 6 years ago. I was involved in a diet program and got down to that, but prior to that, it was probably close to my playing years.

Hut: You retired in…

Joe: ’81.

Hut: Got it. So it had been a little while.

Joe: The buy-in for most people is beyond words; it’s the actions, the results. Jumping in and making yourself commit to the program for 8 weeks…I say that because I think that was pretty much the time when we started to become more and more committed—six to eight weeks, somewhere in there.

I’ve thought about this and what’s past is past, but what has crossed my mind is that I should have been doing this 10, 15, 20 years ago and I could probably still play!

Hut: I wouldn’t be surprised!

Joe: I guess when you get to the stage like where I am, you know that 30, 40, 50, 60, your body is not ascending physically. It’s going in the opposite direction.

And I also believe that there’s a point in time that you could catch it and change the direction. I was getting close to the time where I’ve got to catch it or else I’m not going to be able to.
