My name is Sterling Guest, originally from Southern California, Long Beach to be specific. Located to Texas in 1995 where I played football with James Allred.

I’m the National Sales Manager for a finance company. We finance recreational vehicles so that entails me traveling across the country a lot of times throughout the year and it kind of takes a toll on you after a while. I’ve been doing that, in the sales aspect, for over 10 years.

I was out entertaining clients so I may be out late, I may not sleep properly—things of that nature. I would feel kind of sluggish and tired at times. I didn’t know what optimal was, to be honest with you.

However, I knew that I was putting forth a good effort and I ate fairly decent—at least I thought I did—and I wasn’t seeing the results in terms of my weight. I was kind of stagnant here and there.

The most important thing is to make sure I’m around for my kids, first and foremost. That was a big thing.

Another thing was, I hadn’t played football in over 15 years, so I didn’t want to be just a big, stocky guy walking around. I wanted my flexibility to be better.

I just wanted to be leaner and healthier. I still wanted to have that look like I could still play even if that’s not the case.

Thirdly, I saw you and was like, “Man, what have you been doing?” and that made me ask.

I’ve always known that you were in the health profession and I always had a lot of respect for you so I wanted to see what you were doing. If what I was doing was so far off, what could I do to maximize my health and getting to a better healthy situation.

If I could be preventive and proactive about things, those are what I wanted to do because I didn’t want to wait until it was all bad and then I had to be forced to try to correct things. I wanted to get ahead of it.

When I got all of my information back and started going through it thoroughly, it was able to break down from A to Z where I was deficient or where I was over efficient and how I could streamline those things to maximize my health.

It was catered to my body. It wasn’t based on anybody’s diet or anybody’s recommendation. It was all based on me. With my Lab-Based Nutrition and my results, one thing that was brought to my attention very quickly was the food sensitivities—like dairy. I had been a high consumer of cheese and things of that particular nature.

I’d work out and come home from workout and drink a protein shake. It was a grass-fed, whey-based protein. Finding out I had the sensitivity to that, it was like, “Wow!” I went and did all this work and I came back and just put stuff right back in my body that counter reacted that.

That was immediate, for me, where I could say, “Okay, I can make a change right then and there on this and I think that would be beneficial to me in the long run.”

Those aren’t regular tests that you get from your doctor. As many times as you can do physicals, et cetera, your doctor just doesn’t cover that stuff so this was an in-depth way for me to get in tune with what was going on with me.

I leaned out a lot more. My energy levels were a lot higher. I recovered better from the supplements and things like that that I was utilizing for my nutritional aspect. I started sleeping better.

I wasn’t as groggy or foggy in terms of my concentration during the days or when I was traveling. I just felt better.

I thought I was healthy but then I saw the difference between what I thought was good health to where I am now in terms of really understanding and feeling like I’m at an optimal level.

You pay for oil changes on your car. When your shoes wear out, you go buy new shoes. Why wouldn’t you invest the same amount of money, if not more, into yourself to make sure you’re taken care of?
