And it&#8217;s not only married couples, but friends, neighbors, parent\/child combinations&#8230;working out with a partner is beneficial in so many ways.<\/p>\n<p>Kyle &amp; Wendy from Plano, TX are on the way to reaching their health &amp; fitness goals together! See what they had to say when Curt interviewed them as our June 2012 Clients of the Month! (If you&#8217;d like to read the interview, please see below the video for the transcript.)<\/p>\n<div class=\"responsive-vid-wrap\"><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tzziW8QoSr0?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><strong>Kyle:<\/strong><br \/>\nHi, I\u2019m Kyle from Plano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wendy:<\/strong><br \/>\nAnd Wendy from Plano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kyle:<\/strong><br \/>\nBefore we started training, I wasn\u2019t very active, just did a few things tgo get active. My weight probably wasn\u2019t where I wanted it to be, but I wasn\u2019t highly motivated to do anything about it. But then there were a few health things that kind of got my attention, got her attention to say, maybe we should do something different.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wendy:<\/strong><br \/>\nFor me, every spring I would go through the \u201cOkay, I\u2019ve got to run on the treadmill, I\u2019ve got to do all sorts of exercises to get ready for shorts season and swimsuit season,\u201d and it just started to get harder as we\u2019ve gotten older. So we said, you know what, we need to get on a program and really be serious about getting back in shape.<\/p>\n<p>We asked our doctor, \u201cHey, who can you recommend?\u201d and she recommended New Wave Fitness, because she utilizes New Wave Fitness. We\u2019ve been very happy about the decision.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kyle:<\/strong><br \/>\nMy pants were probably pushing size 40 waist. I had pants that I coudlnt\u2019 wear beause they were too tight. I can now wear those pants. They\u2019re probably size 38, I think, in the little time we\u2019ve been working out.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wendy:<\/strong><br \/>\nActually they\u2019re faling off too!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kyle:<\/strong><br \/>\nYeah, I can wear pants I couldn\u2019t wear before. Some things we joked about when we went and got some weight equipment\u2014there were some of the weights, the dumbbells we picked up, and it was like, there\u2019s no way. I can\u2019t see myself using this for anything. And I\u2019m already using some of the larger dumbbells that I had no idea I\u2019d be able to use from a strength standpoint. So there are just a couple things I\u2019ve noticed in just the short amount of time we\u2019ve been working out.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve lost about 30 pounds so far, roughly. It may be slightly more than that because I\u2019ve added back a couple pounds of muscle so far. So it\u2019s going with what our goals are, to lose around 40-45 pounds of weight and then add back about 15 pounds of muscle, so we\u2019re on our way to getting that muscle back.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wendy:<\/strong><br \/>\nMy pants were getting tight and I said I\u2019m absolutely not going to buy a bigger size, so my goal was lose some weight and tone and boy, it came off much faster than we thought, and the toning really made a difference. We joke because both of us\u2014our pants are falling off. We\u2019re like, \u201cWe\u2019ve got to buy new pants, we\u2019ve got to buy new shorts.\u201d So it\u2019s made a big difference.<\/p>\n<p>We can tell the difference just in the way that our clothes fit and the responses that we\u2019re getting from our friends.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kyle:<\/strong><br \/>\nYeah, a lot of people have commented how my face looks a lot thinner. She said it looks younger, which is good.<\/p>\n<p><strong>New Wave Fitness:<\/strong><br \/>\nRight. It\u2019s always good to be younger!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wendy:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe other thing that was neat too that New Wave Fitness does that really helped us too is at the beginning, we have to write out names of our friends so that you guys can send them progress reports on how we\u2019re doing. So our accountability buddies have been very helpful too, telling us, \u201cHey, keep going, keep going. You guys are doing great.\u201d It makes a big difference.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kyle:<\/strong><br \/>\nOffering support for anything we need help with. They say, \u201cWe\u2019ll help you.\u201d When we first met with Hut at the beginning, he asked us what was our commitment level. I was totally honest and said I was probably a 6 or a 7. It was like, \u201cLet\u2019s see.\u201d I wasn\u2019t highly motivated to do anything, but yet wanted to do something and just needed a nudge.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wendy:<\/strong><br \/>\nI was the nudge. I signed him up.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kyle:<\/strong><br \/>\nShe was the nudge, yes. I think the biggest advice: The hardest thing is to start. Once we started and then I started to see, okay, yeah, this isn\u2019t maybe as hard as I thought it would be. It just took some discipline to get going and then you see things begin to happen in a good way.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ve got to get started. Once you start, it\u2019s easy to do things the right way and just keep going. That initial nudge is the thing\u2014you\u2019ve just got to get up and do something. I think that would be the biggest advice, is to start and then see where it takes you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wendy:<\/strong><br \/>\nAnd it is so much better doing it with a trainer versus trying to do it on your own. He makes sure that we focus on the right things.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kyle:<\/strong><br \/>\nGetting the guidance from David, our trainer\u2014that\u2019s the thing that I think is pushing it over the top, that additional knowledge that they have, what they can tell us, how to do it so that over the long haul, we can do it ourselves. We can remember how to do it and it doesn\u2019t require us to go, \u201cWhat do I do? How am I supposed to do this?\u201d We know how to do it because he teaches us along the way.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We have lots of couples who work out together.
